Aishla Manning is a contemporary visual artist with a focus on site-specific, performance-based practice. Her work is primarily concerned with failure, tension and absurdity of the everyday.
Manning’s videos engage viewers using absurd humour as a tool to subvert everyday objects, gestures and settings. Tensions arise when the familiar becomes strange through repetitive futile sequences that have no useful outcome.
