The Australian Museums and Galleries Association (AMaGA), in partnership with Monash University and the Institute for Digital Culture (UK), invites applications for three international residencies in September 2025. These residencies are designed to advance digital literacy and leadership within the Australian public museum and gallery sector.
Each of the three residencies is tailored to a different career stage:
-
Early Career
-
Mid-Career
-
Established/Senior Professional
The program includes:
-
Participation in the Belvedere Summer School in Vienna, Austria (1–6 September 2025), focused on data-driven decision-making, audience metrics, digitisation, and creative use of digital collections.
-
Attendance at the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria.
-
A two-week residency with one of the following host institutions:
-
Galeries Ontario / Ontario Galleries (Toronto, Canada)
-
Institute for Digital Culture (Leicester, UK)
-
Museum Data Service (Leicester, UK)
-
Participants will engage in research and international exchange, building global networks and deepening their knowledge of digital culture in galleries and museums. Upon return, they will share insights through sector-wide presentations, publications, and panel discussions.
