Deadline:

31 January
Institute of Modern Art

Join artists Dean Ansell, Spencer Harvie, and Seren Wagstaff for a public conversation as part of Platform 2026, the Institute of Modern Art’s annual exhibition supporting emerging Queensland artists. The artists will speak about their practices, new works, and the ideas underpinning their contributions to the exhibition.

Dean Ansell’s work draws on Melanesian mythologies and rituals through installation, sound, and performance. Spencer Harvie explores surreal and unsettling dimensions of online and fan subcultures using found, AI-generated, and imagined imagery. Seren Wagstaff works with installation and performance to examine working-class cultures and queer subtexts embedded within everyday life.

Date: Saturday 31 January 2026
Time: 2:00–4:00pm
