The Book Plate Art Project arrives at City of Gold Coast Libraries this September, transforming books into unique works of art for readers to discover and keep.
Artists with a strong connection to the Gold Coast have been commissioned to create a series of small artworks responding to books and stories. These “book plates” will be placed inside library books throughout September, waiting to be found by library visitors.
The commissioned artists for the 2025 Gold Coast project are:
-
Robyn Sweaney
-
Hiromi Tango
-
Norton Fredericks
-
Trent Mitchell
-
Beth Thompson
-
Ju Ferreira
They will be joined by members of the local creative community, who are also invited to contribute small artworks for readers to encounter and treasure.
