Deadline:

Cut Thumb ARI

Charlie Donaldson’s installation Aarnivalkea research society is based upon the Finnish myth of the will o’ the wisp. Created in the guise of an anonymous researcher, the laboratory-style set-up of the installation feeds unrelated information into a narrative structure and allows the viewer to create their own story out of the images at hand. This project continued Donaldson’s inquiry into the use of associative image-driven systems on the internet as tools for creating narrative.

Charlie Donaldson lives and works in Brisbane. He graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Photography (Honours) in 2014. Aarnivalkea research society marks his first solo exhibition.
