Collaborative Quilts

Facilitated by local artists and long-time friends, Lexie Abel and Shan Michaels, the Come Together workshop mini-series explores the joy of creative collaborations. The workshops are $20 each and must be booked via our website.

Come alone or bring your friends and collectively delve into the concepts of friendship, fun, creativity, and connectedness through printmaking, embroidery, and hand-stitching.

Whether you are experienced or completely new to textile art, this mini-series will show you the simple delight of learning and making together.

Get the most out of the mini-series by attending both workshops. These workshops are inclusive. Please get in touch about any accessibility requirements.

In the first workshop, you will learn printmaking, and mark-making techniques, along with simple embroidery, to create your own fabulous fabric squares.

Using the fabric squares made in Workshop 1, learn simple hand-stitching techniques to construct your own micro-quilt. You can be as creative and collaborative as you like.

While you’re here, visit the exhibition Come Together – a series of innovative artistic collaborations across five contemporary works that explore the different ways we connect with each other and how we relate to our everyday surroundings.
