Contemporaries: Summer marks PARKER Contemporary’s end-of-year exhibition and Christmas celebration, bringing together new works alongside a personally curated selection of favourite pieces from the gallery. Gallery Director and Founder Emily Parker presents a thoughtful moment to gather, reflect, and close out the year together — raising a glass while celebrating the depth and diversity of contemporary practice represented by the gallery.
Bringing together 23 artists and more than 50 artworks, the exhibition highlights printmaking and papermaking as living processes shaped by contemporary urgency and experimentation. With a rich range of works on offer, Contemporaries: Summer provides an ideal opportunity to find a meaningful Christmas gift, select a special work for someone you love, or invest in a piece you will live with for years to come.
For the first time, and with the support of Aria and the Fish Lane Arts Precinct, the exhibition expands across two gallery spaces. PARKER Contemporary’s main gallery at 38 Hope Street presents a curated selection from represented artists, while the newly activated Summer Gallery at 79 Hope Street offers a dedicated platform for emerging voices from QCAD alongside stockroom works by gallery artists. This exchange speaks to the strength, diversity, and future of contemporary printmaking and papermaking in Australia.
