Deadline:

WHEN : 19th September, 6:00pm
WHERE : Institute of Modern Art

As architects and designers turn away from globalised spectacular forms in favour of more nuanced and responsive approaches to place, ‘contemporary vernacular’ has become a fashionable, yet contested, term. Does it mean modern interpretations of traditional building techniques or simply using local materials and approaches? How might it be applied in Queensland? Our panel of Brisbane-based designers and architects—Claudia Taborda, Robert Riddel, and Timothy O’Rourke—address the contemporary vernacular. A joint project with The Dub.
