Onespace Gallery

Following its debut at CIAF 2025, Onespace Gallery proudly presents Post Truth, a striking solo exhibition by Darren Blackman. This new body of work features LED neon text-based sculptures that blend political commentary with pop sensibility, reimagining language as illuminated art.

A proud Gureng Gureng and South Sea Islander artist, Blackman draws on lived experience and cultural legacy to confront contemporary issues with sharp wit and bold aesthetics. Post Truth is a powerful response to the 2025 CIAF theme “Pay Attention!”, originally inspired by Tony Albert’s work of the same name. The exhibition explores what it means to remain alert in a ‘post-Voice’ Australia.

With works like Fear Less and Truth Hurts, Blackman challenges viewers to reconsider national narratives and reflect on truth, power, and cultural identity.

This marks Blackman’s second major solo with Onespace, following his critically acclaimed 2024 show Language of Intent.
