Eddy’s performance is the culmination of her Doctor of Visual Arts journey. Her research explores the invisibility of ageing women through a feminist activist, craftivist (craft plus activism) and performance lens. The performance will see Eddy recite her poem “We are old women hear us roar” with a cohort of older women who will act as her chorus. The performance is a quasi-protest which aims to bring to people’s attention the ageism older women suffer. Eddy’s poem also addresses domestic violence and climate change. Eddy and the women will be in costumes which Eddy has designed and made.
