Dennis McCart’s research investigates the post-industrial landscape through exploring edgelands – the liminal zones at the fringes of urban habitation. His project explores whether the ostensible emptiness and ugliness in which we perceive these edgelands can be transformed to reveal a contemporary notion of the sublime;a paradoxical beauty that reveals some unpalatable truths of modern day society.
