Take a drive down memory lane with Driven, a free summer exhibition celebrating the cars that have shaped our lives. From the thrill of a first car to the milestone moments spent behind the wheel, this exhibition explores how vehicles become markers of identity, memory, and transition.
Drawing from State Library’s extensive collections, Driven showcases rare home movies, historic photographs, motoring memorabilia, and artworks spanning the early 1900s to the muscle cars and 4WDs of the 1970s. Highlights include an inflatable car sculpture by Queensland artist Robert Moore and an impressive display of historic and contemporary licence plates.
Fuelled by nostalgia, Driven invites visitors to rediscover the stories, culture, and personal histories that unfold across bitumen, sand, and dirt.
