Borrowing principles from Surrealism and its study of dreams, psychology and everyday life, Edwina McLennan’s Deep Dive (2022) responds to today’s transient, hyper-saturated and consumerist world.
Drawing upon Carl Jung’s ideas on the collective unconscious, Deep Dive contemplates the primal desire for humans to connect and interact and explores how this translates in today’s consumerist and digital world.
This work is part of SUPERCUT – a suite of projects across Queensland, onsite and online showcasing the state’s most exciting emerging artists from February to December 2022

SUPERCUT is supported by the Australian Government’s RISE Fund and is presented in partnership with Artspace Mackay and NorthSite Contemporary Arts, Cairns.
