Personalised Fragments of Culture is an interdisciplinary installation that aims to establish a connection to personalised fragments of culture through self-analysis and representation. The exhibition involves a series of paper collages that illustrate culturally symbolic objects from Howard’s familial environments. These collages are expanded into large-scale paintings, clay sculptures, and printed fabrics. Howard’s work aims to become a visual preservation of her own relationship with cultural identity, and therefore encourage visibility within Australia regarding the importance of the revitalising of one’s own fragmented perspective.
