Emmaserenjoeworld is a collaborative performance project between Emma Gow, Seren Wagstaff and Joseph Botica. The group explores the idea of a “band” through a contemporary art lense. Pulling from rock, electronica and other Brisbane scene “gigging“ conventions, the group parody and ponder upon the “scene” and the collective performance it entails.
∑GGVEIN – Magnus o’Pus (Lyrics, Vocals, Horns) and David Ethix (Guitar) began ∑GG√E|N as an art project in Wynnum Qld Australia in 2011. These characters are the alter-egos of contemporary artists Archie Moore and David M Thomas. Identifying as Subtropical Goths, ∑GG√E|N has morphed through several line-up changes, to become a post-post No Wave Rock combo, with the inclusion of drummer and synthesist Cal C. Um (Callum Galletly) and bass guitarist Max Doubt (Max Fowler-Roy). ∑√ resist conventions of genre and philosophical dichotomies – synthesizing influences from a wide array of musics and artforms, often underpinned with rock textures and rhythms.
