The Gallery One Smallacombe Self Portrait Prize is a national Australian painting competition inviting artists to create and submit a self-portrait. Open to all permanent Australian residents, the competition emphasizes painting mediums only — digital or AI art is excluded.
Only one entry is allowed per artist, and the submitted work must be a 2D painting completed within two years of the closing date. All finalist works will be exhibited at Gallery One from 30 August – 24 September 2025, with prize announcements on 30 August 2025.

All prizes are non-acquisitive. Entry fee is $40.
Mediums Accepted:
Painting techniques including Oil, Acrylic, Watercolour, Tempera, Gouache, Pastel, and Mixed Media.
Excludes: Digital or AI artworks.
