Deadline:

Institute of Modern Art

The IMA has teamed up with the Queensland Film Festival to curate a selection of recent and rarely seen screen-based works connected to Queensland. From a diverse and exciting mix of practices and projects, we have put together an event in three acts.

The first act features a short film by Emily Avilia and a video piece by artist Sam Cranstoun; the works create a counterpoint of elements. The second act moves into the absurd and the abstract with short pieces by Aishla Manning, Amanda Wolf, and Paul Bai. The evening will conclude with haunting and paranoia-inducing videos by Leena Riethmuller & Callum Galletly, and Daniel McKewen.

The evening promises to be an eclectic combination of some of the most exciting new video art being made in or about Queensland.

Join us on Level 4 of the Judith Wright Centre for Contemporary Arts, upstairs from the IMA, in the Theatre Rehearsal Space.

Free, all welcome.
