Deadline:

31 August
Open House

Hamish Wilson is a self-taught artist residing in Meanjin/Brisbane. His works are primarily figurative oil paintings, floral works or self-portraits that exude gestural brushstrokes and in some instances incorporate short, poignant phrases of text. The aim for his work is for it to be easily accessible and explore themes of self-perception, isolation, toxic masculinity and relationships.

Hamish has recently been awarded the Emerging Artist Prize in the 2024 Brisbane Portrait Prize as well as being selected as a finalist in the 2024 Stanthorpe Art Prize and as a semi-finalist in the 2024 Macquarie Group Emerging Artist Prize.

‘Biting My Tongue’ will be up for one night only on Saturday the 31st of August at Open House right in the heart of West End.
