KAKA NALI – ‘I Am’ is the debut solo ‘ShareSpace’ exhibition by Brisbane Artist Hannah Gutchen.
KAKA NALI offers a neutral environment that encourages self-expression through the emergence of traditional & contemporary Torres Strait Island weaving practices. It is an experience that provokes an innate “inastanding” through life’s adverse experiences, transferable to all. It is also a means to heal one’s state of mind, free of existing socio-political conditioning. Gutchen: “This ShareSpace embodies the fundamentals of self-empowerment & the lore of reciprocity, which supports my ethos – The Revolution of Self Sovereignty always was & always will be, the Resolution! Kaka Nali”.
