This showcase exhibition highlights the work of James Randall, winner of the Metro Arts Experimental Portraiture Prize at the 2024 Brisbane Portrait Prize.
“I used to think that art was all about the artist – the style, the artist’s own presentation, all the crazy stuff that swirls around them. Artists were mysteries to me. Now I know that the strength of art lies in the interpretation of the world around us. Finding a place and a truth in the world. The rest is relevant – all artists have their style. Showing the truth to others, though, is how you make a difference – rare gems of moments when someone sees your work and thinks about the world and the human condition. It’s about sharing and stimulating.”
