In this new body of work, I AM THE MUSE, Jasmine Mansbridge explores ideas of inspiration, progress and the relentless pursuit of creative joy through making. Mansbridge says, “I had been thinking about the idea of the external muse; about it being someone or something, about it being outside of me. The possibly losing that external thing froze me, until I had the realisation that I am the muse, the muse is me.”
I AM THE MUSE draws on this ultimate realisation and brings incredible beauty and complexity to the works with signature colour, form and exciting composition. Mansbridge uses these principles to ignite personal storytelling in the audience, contemplating the wonder and unfamiliar imagined worlds of geometry through painting and sculpture.
