Jordan Wilkinson is a visual artist and filmmaker working on Yugambeh land (Gold Coast), Australia. He is currently exploring the relationship between natural landscape as inherent queer spaces and the community interacting within them. Drawing on his own childhood memories of growing up in rural Australia, he explores memory in response to the natural landscape and rural town living in his works. Working across moving image, installation, text and performance, Jordan tackles his experimental film ideas in various artforms and spaces. In 2016, he adapted and directed a short film (Mute) based on the short story by renowned author Stephen King as part of the Dollar Baby Scheme. Most recently, Jordan was a part of the 2021 La Boite Assembly Theatre program, an artist-in-residence with the City of Gold Coast’s LevelUp Program 2020, and undertook a 3-month City of Gold Coast Arts and Culture placement in 2021 with auteur artist and filmmaker Baz Luhrmann.
