The Third Quarter are honoured to host Brisbane artist Kate Barry‘s second exhibition with the gallery: ‘Brood & Bloom’.

Kate Barry’s painting process is entirely physical; always standing, crouching and circling around her works. The energetic act of painting itself emerges as both spontaneous and confident.
Following on from Kate’s 2018 exhibition with The Third Quarter ‘Swelter & Shade’, this collection of works are a continuation on the interplay between the reality of nature and Barry’s subconscious experience of it.
‘Brood & Bloom’ evokes a sense of moodiness; the cosiness of the cooler months and the darker tones of winter to nestle into, while inviting viewers to stretch and expand into the new growth and warm blooms of the approaching summer.
