Kelp Culture 2022: How long Can You Hold Your Breath?

Deadline:

23 June
-
July 2
Project Gallery QCA

Kelp, an underwater dancer, yields to the tide, regenerating life within our ocean while drawing down carbon from our atmosphere.

With rising temperatures, overfishing and lowering food supply, our ocean ecosystems are dying along with the kelp forests that sustain them. Is kelp(seaweed) a key? Kelp forest regeneration is deservingly prominent within the discourse surrounding the sustainability of life on our planet.

This immersive and interdisciplinary art experience, sponsored by the Climate Foundation, features artworks from eight artists, scientists and technologists who are inspired by the aesthetics of underwater ecosystems along with the science and technology that seeks to regenerate them.

Kelp Culture 2022 engages the audience in a relationship with these underwater wonderlands, a relationship that may keep us breathing and our ecosystems thriving for generations to come.
