This exhibition presents works by Khadim Ali relating to the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan in 2001. Drawing on the Shahnameh (Book of Kings, c.1010 AD) and the history of classical miniature painting, the exhibition brings together works exhibited at Documenta 13 with a group of more recent paintings.
Khadim Ali will give an artist talk at the gallery on Saturday June 15 at 11 am.
