The Third Quarter

Mortality and Fluoro is a materially based investigation of mortality. Emanating from Fracchia’s personal near-death experience in the ocean, this body of work visually articulates feelings of impermanence, fragility and the⁣ precariousness of human life. This is expressed as the dichotomous⁣ opposite to the culture of machismo and bravado amongst young male⁣
surfers.⁣

Acknowledging the volatile nature of the ocean and the tenuous relationship⁣ we have with it, this body of work uses water and drowning as emblematic of⁣ the transient nature of life. This exciting collection of works is framed with methodologies of introspection, social critique and spiritual inquiry.⁣
