Join Melbourne-based artist Hannah Raisin in a discussion about how feminism has informed her work. As a key focus in the presentation, Hannah will reflect on humour and subversion as tactics to engage and challenge notions of the gendered body, and its relationship to the surrounding world.
Raisin completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2012. She has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in Melbourne, regional Victoria and nationally. Raisin is a current member of Arts Victoria’s Youth Arts Reference Group (YARG), and founding member of Rear View Gallery 2008-2010. In 2012 she received the Rosemary Ricker Award, Shermerdine Art Award, the National Gallery of Victoria’s Women’s Association Award and the Substation Exhibition Award. She was also a finalist in the 2012 Bowness Photography Prize and was the recipient of the 2011 CCP Kodak Salon Patrick Corrigan AM Acquisitive Award. She has also received a 2013 Art Start grant, 2010 Jump Mentorship, Punctum seedpod funding and 2009 Next Wave Kickstart.
