People’s persistent interest in self-image is explored in this touring exhibition from the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) Collection.
Looking Out, Looking In: Exploring the Self-Portrait highlights richly diverse approaches to the enduring artistic genre, drawing from QAGOMA’s Australian, Indigenous Australian, Asia Pacific, and International collections.
In an age when digital technology shapes how we live and represent ourselves, this exhibition offers a thoughtful space to reflect on our contemporary obsession with identity and self-portrayal.
Featured artists include Abdul Abdullah, Davida Allen, Fiona Foley, James Gleeson, Nora Heysen, George W. Lambert, Tracey Moffatt, Vincent Namatjira, Luke Roberts, Cindy Sherman, and Madonna Staunton.
This exhibition is developed and toured by the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art.
