Join us for the second instalment of the 2025 Making Of series, featuring acclaimed Quandamooka artist Megan Cope. This special evening will offer deep insights into Cope’s career trajectory, creative decisions, and the pivotal moments that have shaped her highly regarded practice.
Megan Cope’s work spans sculpture, painting, and video, often engaging with themes of colonial history, the environment, and cartographic traditions. Her art resists narrow definitions of Aboriginal identity and challenges dominant narratives of nationhood and place.
She has exhibited widely, with recent and notable presentations at the Sydney Opera House, Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Sharjah Biennial, Busan Biennale, and Hawai’i Triennial. Her works are held in major national and international collections, and she is a proud member of proppaNOW, the Aboriginal artist collective awarded the Jane Lombard Prize for Arts and Social Justice.
This free, public event is an opportunity to hear directly from one of Australia’s leading contemporary artists. Tickets are essential due to limited capacity.
