In this work ‘movement at the edge’ 2019, Mandy Quadrio is talking about movement and more specifically, the movement of forced transportation. Three vessels speak to Quadrio’s palawa history and the forced transportation of family members. While historically family members were pushed to the edge literally and metaphorically, Quadrio now addresses the vulnerable edge of racism’s tipping points. These vessels pose the questions of who or what is being shipped in, shipped out or shipped away?
