Master Queensland ceramicists Mollie Bosworth and Virginia Jones share their decorative ceramic techniques in this hands-on Masterclass.
In the morning, you’ll learn laser decal techniques, including how to design, print and apply laser decals for porcelain with Mollie. Mollie will demonstrate how to prepare images, how to print your designs onto decal paper, how to use glazes with laser decals, and what firing temperatures to use. You’ll put theory into practice by practicing laser decal application on to bisque and glazed porcelain.
In the afternoon, Virginia will demonstrate the art of using Japanese transfer paper to transfer images onto clay. You’ll use your newly learned techniques to apply beautifully patterned Japanese transfer paper to bisque tea bowls and test tiles.
