Max Athans: Late Transformation

March 31, 2023

Wreckers Artspace

“Late ultraviolet caress, the crawl of cells reorganised. Breath wishes whistling through a boolean cavity”

Late Transformation depicts a bodily timeline, an archeology of chimerical change. Drawing from museum collections, speculative furry futurities and and biological fantasy to explore a queer body that is fractured and ever-progressing. Max Athans is a Meanjin artist working between physical and digital material. Their work primarily addresses the mutability of images, digital culture, speculative futures and unstable histories.

Opening Event: 6-9pm 31 March, or by appointment.
