Metro Arts’ new home at West Village – set to officially open in September 2020 – will present an annual program of contemporary and experimental performing and visual arts.
Metro Arts’ exciting and cutting edge programs will include theatre, dance, video art, circus, physical theatre, cabaret, installation art, hybrid art, public art, family programs, themed festivals, films and discussions.
Metro Arts’ venues including the New Benner Theatre, two galleries will showcase a range of performances and exhibitions, talks, forums, workshops and screenings. There will also be two multi-purpose studios that will be used for creative developments, rehearsals, dance classes, training, corporate functions and more. On selected evenings, the Factory Lane and foyer will transition to the Box Office and Bar, servicing pre-performance and after-office drinks. Every cup sold supports the range of Metro Arts’ programs and activities targeting independent artists.
This new hub for West End’s diverse community will be the place in Brisbane to experience the work of contemporary artists ranging from the emerging to the mid-career and the established.

NEW BENNER THEATRE
The New Benner Theatre is programmed through an annual Call for Proposals. There are limited opportunities to hire this venue for activities that do not have a public outcome.
