Miranda Skoczek’s newest body of work, Paradise Garden, is imbued with moments of peace, joy, and life in bloom. This exhibition reflects her deep contemplation on our connection to nature, with electric pinks layered against muted purples and greens — an evolution of her previous palettes.
Abstract flowers and organic vessels grace the canvases, forming her own ‘Paradise Gardens.’ Drawing from personal archives of images, feelings, and memories, Skoczek blends reality with memory — the physical with the indescribable. Her rich, luminous works are the result of a meticulous layering process, highlighting and concealing with oil and acrylic.
Miranda Skoczek graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art – Painting from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2004, receiving the College’s painting prize. She also holds a Diploma in Visual Art – Painting (Victoria University of Technology, 2001) and a Diploma of Applied Arts and Graphic Design (Canberra Institute of Technology, 1997).
She has exhibited at major institutions including Linden New Art, Heide Museum of Modern Art, McClelland Gallery, and internationally in Copenhagen and Hong Kong. Her work is collected widely across Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and the UK.
