Presented by Illuminate Adelaide and ANAT, New Light 2021 will showcase experimental and diverse moving image works by contemporary First Nations artists.
Through a national call out, New Light will feature selected work by First Nations artists, exploring compelling and complex concepts. The commissioned artworks will be displayed on the media screens at the entrance to the Adelaide Festival Centre in July 2021 as part of Illuminate Adelaide
WHO CAN APPLY?
ANAT is calling for applications from First Nations artists nation-wide. We are seeking to commission four artists/artist groups to produce short, experimental moving-image works of up to one-minute’s duration. Applicants must have the necessary skills to produce new, quality content in 16:9 video format and the resulting work must be suitable for public display.
Successful artists/artist groups will receive a fee of $2,000 to produce the work, inclusive of artist fees, production costs and materials etc. All copyright will remain with the artist.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS
Your application must be received by 5pm (ACST), Tuesday 6th April 2021.
Late applications will not be accepted.

Friday 23 April 2021: Notification of outcome
Friday 7 May – Monday 5 July 2021: Artwork development (8 weeks)
Tuesday 6 July 2021: Deadline for final artwork – supplied to ANAT
Friday 16 Jul – Sun 1 August 2021: Artwork screened, Adelaide Festival Centre
