Jenna Baldock reflects on her experience as co-director of Inhouse Artist Run Initiative (ARI) through Out of house, a group exhibition featuring emerging artists: Jake Sun, Yannick Blattner, Alrey Batol, Pirrin Francis and Benjamin Crowley.
Jenna is exploring the contingent dynamics of exhibition space and its impact on the production and perception of art by placing these five artists’ work in Metro Arts’ Gallery. Out of house interrogates public preconceptions of art and dialogue, the politics of space and the influence of the exhibition environment on a viewer’s personal and immediate engagement with work.
Jenna curates the work of five artists who have each had solo exhibitions at Inhouse ARI and analyses the ways in which these artists adapt and respond to the environment of a group show in a gallery.
