Queer Readings of the QUT Art Collection diversifies writing on the QUT Art Collection and celebrates queer voices in contemporary art. Multi award-winning writers and QUT alumni Jarad Bruinstroop, Rebecca Cheers, Anna Jacobson, and Rebecca Jessen respond through poetry and prose to works by collection artists Lincoln Austin, eX de Medici, Scott Redford, and Luke Roberts.
The project coincides with Brisbane Pride, showcasing artworks and accompanying writing both in the gallery and online. It highlights trailblazing artists in the collection alongside the vibrant community of queer writers who have engaged with their work.
Supported by the QUT Equity and Diversity Grant Scheme, this initiative honours equity, diversity, and community connection at QUT.
