Through reproductions of imagery sourced from old diaries and sketchbooks, the work in ‘Violence in Romantic Fairytale theme’ explores themes of violent social/human communicative drama. Focusing on its more worrisome aspects, Hlodik reflects on past plutonic and romantic relationships to gain insight into human interaction, particularly between two people. The drawings, which are reprinted here as chiaroscuro and blotted line prints and photocopies, are ironic, bleak but positive and jokingly truthful.
