Take a Part CIC and Plymouth University are delivering an international symposium on socially engaged practice. The symposium seeks to look at two aspects of socially engaged practice: methodologies to approaching socially engaged work and the impacts on audiences and communities it engages with. Take a Part works with communities in Plymouth to make contemporary art projects by co-commissioning and co-curating work that is risk-taking, thought provoking and challenging.
We are looking to develop a video showcasing a range of different artists and organisations and their methodologies of socially engaged practice. We are looking for submissions of videos of around 5 minutes, in which you will discuss your working methodologies. You may include past or current works. We are open to other video responses to the symposium’s focus too. The video will be shown at the symposium and also disseminated online at the symposium website.
The video will need to be submitted by 17 February and in a file format compatible with premiere pro. This is an unpaid opportunity.
