This exhibition draws from Spencer’s recent experience in running sessions of the fantasy role playing game Dungeons and Dragons for friends in the Brisbane art scene. Featuring drawings created based on the rules of Dungeons and Dragons, Dungeon Master aims to examine the unclear boundary between fantasy and reality in online spaces.

In a broad sense, Dungeon Master examines the connections between fantasy role-play, imaginary worlds, the role of the artist, representations of geek culture, and how we as users of social media can be seen as role players within a fantasy world of images generated by a system out of our control.
