Deadline:

WHEN : 13th – 30th November / Opening 13th Nov, 6:00pm
WHERE : Metro Arts

The Changing Standards of Dialogue, an exhibition by Other Projects, is a culmination of their year as Artists in Residence at Metro Arts. Other Projects is a collaborative venture between Brisbane based artists Marcel Daniels and Daniel Herberg. Working together since 2010, their shared practice focuses on exploring the notion of dialogue, and in particular, the complexities, paradoxes and ‘grey areas’ inherent in cross-cultural discourses.

For this exhibition the duo have developed works that look to raise questions regarding the slippages and contradictions between the various codes and formulas of representation, perception, value systems and identity; specifically from positions of ‘otherness’. The exhibition will include a new series of sculptural, object and image-based works, to create an immersive installation that looks to destabilise ‘standardised’ ways of seeing.
