The Waller Art Prize, an inaugural art prize and exhibition, will be first held in October, 2018 at Trades Hall, Bendigo.
Every year the BendArts Festival invites artists to submit entries for the The Waller Art Prize. The most outstanding works, as judged by the selection panel, is awarded an non-acquisitive cash prize pool of $5,000. The Prize was initiated by in honour of Bendigo Artist & BendArts founder Hugh Waller (1959 – 2017).
Submissions are invited from all artists. Any two-dimensional art work including painting in any medium, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital art and mixed media is eligible for consideration. Prizes are awarded by the Judges are; the The Waller Art Prize ($4,000), Highly Commended ($500) and People’s Choice ($500).
Works from the shortlisted artists are on display during the festival week in the The Waller Art Prize Exhibition. The artworks are available for sale, without commission.
Entry fee is $40 for first artwork per public artist, $30 for first artwork for BendArts Festival Members and $5 for each additional work. Payment reference name must match the artist’s name on the entry form. BAF will not be responsible for accepting entries with incorrectly referenced payments.
