FOMU – Museum of Photography Antwerp invites photographers, filmmakers and visual artists to submit proposals for TRIGGER #7: Ocean, the seventh edition of its critical publication series.
This open call approaches the ocean not as backdrop, but as a political, ecological and imaginative force — a space of circulation, power, memory and transformation. Artists are encouraged to think with the water rather than simply about it, engaging themes of counter-mapping, submerged histories, multispecies relations, maritime infrastructure, climate futures and oceanic imaginaries across the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans.
Rather than conventional documentary approaches, TRIGGER seeks experimental, hybrid and research-driven visual practices. Selected contributors will develop their work in dialogue with the editorial team and Oceanographies Collective, shaping visual essays or hybrid contributions within the publication.
A maximum of three proposals will be selected.
Selected artists will receive a fee between €400–€660 (incl. VAT).
