Ngurra Nyujunggamu (When the World Was Soft) presents a new body of work by Yinjidbarndi artist Wendy Hubert at Milani Gallery.

The exhibition features five paintings that were recently presented at the Aichi Triennale. Hubert is an Elder of the Yinjidbarndi people and is widely respected as a teacher, linguist and artist whose practice reflects deep cultural knowledge and connection to Country.

The exhibition coincides with Hubert’s major project for the 2026 Sydney Biennale, Yinjidbarndi Nyinyart at Wendy’s Garden, presented at Penrith Regional Gallery.

Through painting, Hubert’s work reflects the stories, histories and cultural knowledge embedded within Yinjidbarndi Country, offering audiences insight into a powerful contemporary First Nations artistic practice.

An opening event for the March exhibitions will be held on Tuesday 17 March, 6 – 8pm.
