‘Young Ones’ features works from six artists who are 35 or younger: Uji Handoko Eko Saputro (also known as Hahan), Tyza Stewart, Abdul Abdullah, Liam O’Brien and Vincent Namatjira. These artists were children at the turn of the twenty-first century, their work draws from various facets of contemporary life while remaining grounded in art history, forging a fresh style that resists yet enfolds the lessons of their predecessors.
‘Young Ones’ profiles artists at an early stage in their careers who must navigate a world of ever-changing technology, globalised networks and political instability while seeking their own aesthetic approach.
