Joe Furlonger: Wild Places, Wild Things

Deadline:

Heiser Gallery

Joe Furlonger is one of Australia’s leading landscape painters. He began showing with the Ray Hughes Gallery in Brisbane in 1984 and won the prestigious Moet & Chandon prize for emerging artists in 1988. He travelled soon after this in Epernay, France and exhibited in Troyes and London on this seminal expedition. The important Madonna and Child suite produced on these travels was exhibited at Sydney’s St. Mary’s Cathedral. Travel has been most important for the creative process of Furlonger. His travels have taken him to New Guinea, Vietnam, China, across Australia and a few jaunts through Europe – all providing rich source material for his various exhibitions over the decades.

Exhibition Opening: Friday 14 July 6 – 8pm
