Emergence is the process of ‘coming into existence’ and transitioning from a state of concealment into something visual and unrestrained. The exhibition casts light on hidden vistas within the human interior and visually reflects on mystical ideas about how the soul came to inhabit our inner space.
An ancient Eastern story told by the Persian poet Rumi suggests the body-soul relationship first emerged to experience the celestial Music of the Spheres. According to the myth, discovering this elusive music can offer a momentary feeling of freedom from any dissonance between the soul and its physical host.
