Bridie Gillman: Ground Work

Deadline:

25 September
-
October 15
Edwina Corlette Gallery

Ground Work began with a familiar experience – looking out of a plane window at the ground below. This time though, I had quite an unexpectedly emotional response to what I was seeing. At once, beautiful, mesmerising, and heartbreaking to see with such clarity how the imposed geometry cut through the landscape. This view of the patchworked ground below morphed into a framework through which to explore the different mediums I’ve been working with – wool, ceramic, tile, patchwork, and oil paintings held together through this lens.
