The National Asian Culture Center (ACC), Korea, invites applications for the ACC CREATORS 2026 Residency — a five-month international residency exploring the convergence of art and technology.
Open to artists, researchers, designers, architects and engineers, the residency supports interdisciplinary projects engaging with the 2026 theme: Speculative Communities. The program asks how “community” might be reimagined in an age shaped by AI, data systems and technological mediation.
Eight teams (individuals or teams of up to two) will be selected for the residency period from 27 June – 30 November 2026, with a final exhibition held 20–29 November 2026 at ACC ACT Studio, Gwangju, Republic of Korea.
Categories include:
– Art & Technology (installations using AI, robotics, XR, gaming, kinetic media, etc.)
– Audiovisual (live audiovisual installation)
– Immersive Sound (spatial and multimedia sound works)
Support includes:
– Project budget: KRW 30,000,000 (Art & Technology) or KRW 20,000,000 (other categories)
– Stipend: KRW 2,500,000 per individual
– One round-trip airfare (international residents)
– Workspace at ACT Studio
– Accommodation at Asia Plex Studio
The residency is process-led and supports research, development, production and exhibition.
Open to international applicants, including Australian artists eligible for a Korean visa.
