Waverley Woollahra Art School invites entries for the 2026 9×5 Landscape Art Prize, celebrating the legacy of Australian Impressionism and its spontaneous approach to landscape painting.
Now in its 11th year, this nationally recognised prize encourages artists to respond to the Australian landscape using the iconic 9×5 inch format—echoing the historic use of cigar box lids by early plein air painters. Artists are invited to create works that capture atmosphere, immediacy, and personal interpretation of place.
Open to artists across Australia, the prize welcomes both emerging and established practitioners working in visual arts. Each entrant receives a 9×5 plywood board as the foundation for their submission.
Finalists will be exhibited at Waverley Woollahra Art School, offering significant exposure within a respected arts context.
